Q at the Empress
There’s nothing quite like a bubbly drink or a cocktail brimming with strong flavours. All around Victoria you will find finely crafted cocktails and drinks to add a little bit of thrill to your evenings and weekends. Victoria definitely does cocktails right and asking our Tasting Victoria readers to pick their favourite cocktail places was a tough choice, but with their votes we have comprised three of the top spots in Victoria for the best cocktails.
Q at the Empress
Beauty and refinement is what one can discover at the Q at the Empress. This bar has been ranked as one of the 50 best bars across Canada, and is the only bar to receive such an award on the Island. Tasting Victoria readers voted and the Q at the Empress was chosen as our top place for the best cocktails in Victoria, a hard position to grab but well deserved.
The Q at the Empress comprises a host of exciting and creative cocktails including their award-winning BC Martini which is crafted with kelp-infused Sheringham Seaside Gin. Another favourite at this restaurant and bar is the Q’s classic Q1908, which features their signature Empress 1908 colour changing gin, an almost magic-like display of creative cocktail crafting at its finest. Come and enjoy fine dining and sublimely fashioned cocktails at the Q at the Empress, where luxury and flavourful dishes harmoniously come together.

The cocktails crafted at Little Jumbo are a feast for the eyes and an invigorating flavour of smooth alcohol. Tasting Victoria readers love a good cocktail, and when it comes to Little Jumbo this humble hub of cocktail excellence does not play nor does it disappoint. Little Jumbo was voted to join the top three cocktail places in Victoria and one look at their Instagram page’s roster of eye-catching, colourful, and creative cocktails will tell you it’s a well earned spot.
Not only does Little Jumbo serve stupendously good drinks it also carries a selection of delicious dishes, small and large, ranging from the beef tartare, grilled lingcod, pan seared halibut to mouth-watering desserts. At Little Jumbo you will find flavours that are far from little and well worth the visit.

Citrus and Cane
Feeling like an escape from the dreary gloom of fall but can’t escape on a plane to some faraway island? Well at Citrus and Cane you can find tropical vibes all around and with colourful decor and comfy mid-century modern styling you’ll feel like you’ve escaped all your stresses. Originally built in the 1970s, this new and improved space has given way to a whole new scene when it comes to cocktail bars in Victoria. By no surprise Citrus and Cane has gained a place on our list as one of the top three cocktail bars in Victoria.
With Citrus and Cane being solely a cocktail bar, patrons can focus on unwinding and enjoying all the fun and unique cocktails this sprawling tropical bar has to offer. One of the popular choices is the Oooh Dat’s Spicy drink with pineapple and mint and a hint of spice. Some other customer favourites are the Public Enemy Number Rum, which is an overproof rum sour mixed with passionfruit and fresh orange juice, served over a clear ice cube, and the Painkiller cocktail, a more boozy take on the usually more sweet classic, the Piña Colada.
