Fall is one of Tasting Victoria’s favourite times of year—and not just because of the pumpkin spice. We go from white to red wines, hazy IPAs to dark stouts, and switch up the cocktail from fun and fruity, to deep and brooding.
To celebrate the fruits of all the fall elixirs, we curated a list of some of the finest bars and restaurants in the city featuring some fabulous fall cocktails this season.

Clarke & Co.
Clarke & Co. is one of the coziest cocktail bars in the city with some of the best bartenders behind the pine. Opposite the Royal Theatre, it’s dark, dim, and alive with the scent of fall flavours this autumn. Ask your bartender for a specialized cocktail, or order The Dead Man’s Letters—a strong, hearty and smooth old-fashioned with butter washed whisky, Hoyne Dark Matter maple syrup in a cedar smoked glass seasoned with chocolate bitters.
Clive’s Classic Lounge
Clive’s Espresso Martini Frappe is probably the perfect cocktail to pair with this unseasonably warm autumn weather. Made with Belvedere Vodka, Kamora Coffee Liqueur, and Discovery Coffee, this frozen and whipped drink is the perfect blend of fall flavours and summer texture.
Citrus & Cane
Keep on that Hawaiin shirt and put on your touques. The Puerto Rican Weekend is a 2oz Pina Colada Old Fashioned giving you the heat you need heading into autumn. Slow down and enjoy three kinds of rum—white diplomatico, plantation pineapple, and coconut—and pineapple syrup, topped with tiki bitters in a tiki mug.
Keep it low key and full of flavour at Cenote. Never would I imagine gin and cinnamon together in a cocktail, but Cenote’s Gin Ne Sais Quoi is made with Bombay Sapphire gin, Chambord (a raspberry liqueur) hibiscus syrup, tiki bitters, lime juice, egg white, and a seasonal cinnamon spritz.
Wind Cries Mary
We’re not sure if it’s Kevin Costner-approved, but something’s telling us Wind Cries Mary’s Field of Dreams cocktail knocks it out of the park anyway. Take yourself out to the cocktail bar with this DEVINE honey rum, yellow chartreuse, maple, lime, and lime leaf tincture cocktail this fall.
Artemis Whiskey Bar
Artemis Whiskey Bar has a surprise for you, in more ways than one. Not only is one of Victoria’s newest whiskey bars a speakeasy—requiring guests to enter through a bookshelf at its Johnson Street location—but it also has the Sweet Surprise cocktail: a mix of cognac, chocolate liqueur, merlot, cream, and syrup with added bitters. The Sweet Surprise is a perfect mix of ingredients that will put you at ease into those darker winter days.
Q at the Empress
Put on your Sunday best at the Q. The Autumn Harvest features a botanical rhubarb gin from Sheringham, a spicy Galliano liqueur, and a blackberry explosion of natural fruit and syrup. Enjoy a beautiful cocktail while you pay homage to British royalty as several 6ft portraits of the Queen wallop over you in the dining hall.
