Best vegan and vegetarian restaurants in Victoria 2023

These are the best vegan and vegetarian restaurants in Victoria this year, as selected by our readers in the annual Tasting Victoria Restaurant Awards

There is no shortage of vegan and vegetarian restaurants in Victoria, and each offer an incredible selection of dishes, treats, and drinks that appeal to the plant-based and beyond. We asked our readers at Tasting Victoria to vote on their favourites when it comes to plant-based dining. With their voices, here’s the top three vegan/vegetarian restaurants in Victoria.

Nourish Kitchen & Café

Nourish first moved into its 133-year-old heritage home in James Bay in 2015. Since then it’s been one of the flagship restaurants for plant-based Victoria locals and visitors—which is why it’s no surprise it’s taken first place. Every dish and drink at Nourish is served with an exceptional combination of fresh ingredients and flavours, mostly made with plant-based ingredients.

Rebar Modern Food

Since 1988, Rebar has been one of Victoria’s favourite restaurants and juice bars, featuring fresh, healthy, predominantly vegetarian fare. This renowned and popular restaurant (evident by its multiple wins in this category) is situated in the heart of downtown in Bastion Square, a short distance from the ocean and Inner Harbour. Rebar has options, which is why so many locals and tourists flock for its brunch, lunch, and dinner.

Virtuous Pie

Following successes in Vancouver and Portland, Virtuous Pie has found the same in Victoria. Its creative, plant-based pizzas, cocktails, and ice cream catapults it into a not-so-predictable pizza place on Pandora Avenue, promising good vegan and vegetarian food with a great experience whether you dine in or take out.
