8 things you didn’t know about MOD Pizza

Located in Langford, this Seattle-based casual pizza place lets you choose from their menu or create your own, with as many ingredients as you want at no extra cost. We at Tasting Victoria love this place because of its menu, ingredients, teamwork, and community focus. If you haven’t yet been to a MOD Pizza in Belmont Market, you’re really missing out on something great. In case you didn’t know, here are 8 interesting facts about MOD Pizza:

1. MOD is all about community

The pizza names are not just any names but meaningful and touching symbols of connection to the community. Each pizza at MOD has been named after a person who holds a special connection to the restaurant. One such customer was a young girl named Maddy. She was a regular at MOD Pizza but tragically passed away from leukemia. As a testament to this little girl’s love of pizza, her favourite kind—margherita pizza—is now called the “Maddy” at MOD.

The pizza joint also supports a variety of charities each year by working with groups that support and serve youth and families. MOD also strives to support the neighbourhoods located near each MOD Pizza location. They partner with local organizations and charities. Currently, MOD will donate $0.50 to Best Buddies International for each MOD Value(s) Meal purchased, up to $500,000. And locally, MOD will donate $0.25 for every cake sold to Victoria Pride.

2. It’s a family-friendly restaurant

The ambiance at the restaurant makes you feel very welcome and comfortable. With a bright and friendly space, along with mouth-watering pizza choices, MOD Pizza is a top pick for a family pizza night or a weekend excursion with your friends.

3. They have a cauliflower crust option

Try MOD’s signature cauliflower crust is packed with flavour and a dash of herbs.

4. They have vegan and vegetarian options

Vegans and vegetarians both have great options at MOD. The regular and gluten-friendly pizza dough and vegan cheese are dairy-free. Then top off your pizza or salad with whatever sounds good–just be sure to let your MOD Squader know any dietary restrictions.

The new plant-based Italian sausage is the latest addition to MOD’s current vegan options, including their signature red sauce, regular and gluten-free crusts, and dairy-free cheese.

5. Allergy-friendly menu

If you happen to have an allergy to nuts, it won’t be a problem at MOD Pizza because there is nothing on their menu that includes either tree nuts or ground nuts. You’re safe in ordering anything off their menu. Full allergen information can be found here.

6. You pay the same price regardless of the toppings

There are many pizza restaurants that charge customers extra for each additional ingredient added to their pizza. This is not the case with Mod Pizza. It doesn’t matter if you add one or ten ingredients, you’ll pay the listed price for your pizza.

7. Their drink menu is amazing

MOD Pizza has an amazing beverage section on its menu. Their caramelized pear tea is to die for, they have an amazing blackberry lemonade and vintage lemonade, and they now serve Phillips beer. There are options for everyone.

8. Made On Demand

MOD actually is an acronym that stands for Made On Demand. This is because they customize each pizza to customers’ preferences. Their pizzas are cooked in just three minutes using an 800° oven.
