Mattick’s Farm, located in charming Cordova Bay, features a vibrant mix of unique retail shops, professional offices, and the acclaimed Adrienne’s Restaurant and Tea Garden. The eclectic mix of businesses along with the welcoming setting attracts a diverse range of locals and visitors. Cyclists drop in as they cruise along the Galloping Goose Trail, locals stop as they pass by during walks with family or friends, and others make the trip by car to experience this quaint venue.
Open seven days a week, Adrienne’s is the renowned jewel in the area serving breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea. There is also an adjoining bakery, deli, and ice cream parlor for those wanting a quick in and out experience.
Mattick’s Farm is named after Bill Mattick, the farmer who tilled this land and ran a successful daffodil business. The building was opened in 1957 by Bill Mattick as a roadside stand to sell his vegetables and flowers.
Guests are encouraged to visit and discover the daily changing special menu where they offer new culinary art trends with great pairing suggestions of high-quality organic teas, fine wines, local beer, cider, and cocktails. Adrienne’s strive to capture the heart and palate of all culinary enthusiasts, and locally source the freshest ingredients offering both vegetarian and gluten-free options.
Breakfast is hearty for those craving something substantial, however also caters to those wanting lighter fare such as oatmeal or fruit. Served daily from 8:30 am – 11:30 am, the restaurant has created their own very popular “EBC – Egg, Bacon, and Cheese on an English muffin with pan-fries. Also, a favorite among regulars is the Cordova Bay Breakfast featuring one or two local farm fresh eggs in any style, toast with house-made jams, pan-fries, complete with a choice of bacon, ham, or sausage.
Lunch is served daily from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm. A must-try is the Soup, Salad, and Sconewich made up of a house-made cheese scone generously filled with your choice of turkey cranberry salad, ham, and cheese, or vegetarian, served with a cup of the soup of the day and a green salad. If the Sconewich is not your delight there are many other options available as well as a daily feature which is located on the chalkboard upon entering.
If it is high tea you are yearning for, there are several options to partake in. The fresh and decadent traditional High Tea includes tea sandwiches, savory items, assorted pastries, fresh seasonal fruit, house-made warm raisin scone with double Devon cream, and house-made jam, served with tea or coffee.
The Afternoon Tea Plate comes complete with a selection of tea sandwiches, fresh seasonal fruit, a piece of cake, house-made warm raisin scone with double Devon cream, and tea or coffee.
For the wee folks in your party, consider the Kid’s Tea Plate which includes a cupcake with tea sandwiches or peanut butter and jam sandwiches, fresh fruit and tea, milk or juice. All presented in true tea fashion bringing grins to all.
