Here are 4 places in Victoria to get late night food

The list may not be long, but it sure is mighty.

Let’s face it: Victoria is not for night owls. Most restaurants close at 10pm, and the bars that stay open don’t usually serve food. If you don’t plan ahead, getting a late night bite is pretty hard. But, just because it’s midnight, doesn’t mean you’re totally out of luck.

Here’s a list of a few places serving really good late night food.

The Mint

This late night spot offers an eclectic blend of West Coast meals and Himalayan cuisine. It has a fantastic dinner menu, and it’s one of the few bars open until 2am in Victoria too. Our favourite is the butter chicken poutine, which is especially great as a late night snack.

Saint Franks

Saint Franks closed last month, but it’s planning on opening back up soon with a new spot on Yates Street. This place had everything you’d want for a late night bite: hot dogs, tater tots, video games, and cheap night caps. While there’s no telling what the new place might hold, we’re hoping they keep serving those fantastic late night hot dogs and tater tots.

Fiamo

Fiamo has always been a go-to place for quality late night food. It was only in the last year or so that Fiamo reduced its hours to 1am—but for a while Victoria had a legitimate, amazing late night food place. Still, if you’re inclined (or a bit older) and you’re leaving the clubs or bars early, and you’re hankering for a sweet bite to eat, we couldn’t recommend Fiamo enough. Pizza and pasta reign supreme here, and while it’s a smaller menu than during regular hours, it packs a punch.

Top Dog Pizza & Donair

This isn’t a late night sit-in spot; it’s takeout. But it’s one of the few late night pizza places open that is friendly to the gluten-sensitive. Top Dog also has a great 2-for-1 pizza deal. Most other places on this list close before 2am, but Top Dog is open until 3am. So, head home, order in, and enjoy a few bites before you get a good night’s sleep.
