Odd Burger is a vegan, fast food, plant based restaurant with locations in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario.

Now, it's adding British Columbia to that list, with Victoria and Vancouver being the first cities with a location in the province. Odd Burger representatives told Tasting Victoria permits were just approved and construction at 790 Fisgard St. will start soon. Branded posters have gone up, building anticipation among residents already.

Last year, the popular Canadian vegan fast food chain signed a franchise deal for 36 Odd Burger locations to open across Canada in the next seven years. Victoria was one of the first on that list.

Founded in Ontario in 2014, Odd Burger is one of the world’s first vegan fast food chains.

Nothing beats its Famous Burger, though: a double-decker play on a Big Mac with house-made chickpea patties, iceberg lettuce, pickles, and special sauce.

Already, anticipation is growing online, with one person commenting on the Victoria Hospitality Facebook group, “[The opening] Can’t come fast enough, apparently the food at this chain is awesome,” says Kelsey McInnes.

Tasting Victoria has reached out to Odd Burger for an exact date it will be open, but did not receive a reply in time for publication. We will update this article when that information is available.
