As the weather begins to warm up, it’s officially ice cream season in Victoria! It’s a time of excitement, whether it’s cold relief after a hot day at the beach, not caring when the ice cream runs down your hand, or the devastation when you lick the ice cream right off the cone and watch it hit the pavement. We compiled a selection of the city’s best ice cream, from pints and soft serve to sandwiches and pies.

Virtuous Pie

Virtuous Pie offers flights of its dairy-free ice cream as well as to-go pints. They just announced new flavours that include classic combos like Mint + Dark Chocolate and more unique ones like Ballpark, which combines the flavours of popcorn, caramel, and chocolate chips.

49 Below

49 Below has a store on Cadboro Bay Road, but its pints are also available at many other locations across the city. They are known for their unique flavours, which recently included limited edition ones like black licorice and candy cap mushroom.

Parachute

All of Paracute’s ice creams are created on-site. They recently began serving ice cream pies at the Langford location! These are a re-imagining of the traditional ice cream cake within the confines of a pie shell.

Beacon Drive-In Restaurant

Beacon Drive-In has some of the very best soft serve ice cream in the city. In fact, they have won the award for Victoria’s best soft serve for the past 28 years! The soft serve is available in a variety of ways, from screamers and sundaes to avalanches and milkshakes.

Jackson’s Ice Cream

Jackson’s is located at Fisherman’s Wharf, an ideal spot to enjoy a cold sweet treat! Their ice cream offering includes The Danny, a cone filled with soft serve with a hard scoop on top.
