The Very Good Butchers opens a new Butcher Shop in downtown Victoria

The Very Good Butchers, the leading brand of The Very Good Food Company (“VERY GOOD”), a Victoria plant-based meat company, is opening its Butcher Shop in downtown Victoria today (Oct. 6). The shop, offering brunch, lunch, dinner, bar, and bakery menus, makes it easier than ever for local residents to enjoy delicious vegan meals. The new Butcher Shop also features an outdoor patio for customers to enjoy a sit-down meal, along with a deli case to take away its sophisticated and plant-based meats to eat at home.

“We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of our Butcher Shop and offer a new restaurant and retail outlet,” said Mitchell Scott, co-founder and CEO of The Very Good Food Company. “Our goal has always been to make plant-based eating as easy and accessible as possible, and we realized the need for a sit-down restaurant with delicious vegan dishes. As more and more people are turning to plant-based foods, we’re excited to continue growing and opening more Butcher Shops and restaurants across North America. With our outdoor patio and the ability to serve an extended beverage menu including beer and wine, we’re hopeful our new Butcher Shop will become a local favourite.” 

The new Butcher Shop offers a variety of specialty dishes that were created by James Davison, chef and co-founder of The Very Good Butchers. The restaurant menu includes meals made with its plant-based meats, in addition to vegan fish and chips, toad in a hole, several charcuterie board styles, delicious bakery options, and a bar menu with beer and wine. Shoppers can pick from a variety of plant-based meats from the deli takeaway case featuring The Very Good Butchers’ full product line, including its newest Butcher’s Select line, which includes the award winning MMM…Meatballs, Flippin’ Good Burger, Cajun Sausage, Bratwurst Sausage, and Breakfast Sausage. 

All of The Very Good Butchers’ plant-based meats are hand-crafted and made with real, whole-food ingredients like beans, grains, vegetables, and a variety of spices. The brand is dedicated to creating approachable, nutritious, and delicious plant-based meats by making food that’s “Very Good” for people, animals, and the environment.
