Autumn’s here, and that means it’s wine season.

From Sept. 28 to Oct. 1, wine lovers, enthusiasts, connoisseurs, and newcomers are welcomed to the Victoria International Wine Festival at venues across the city over the course of the three days.

Featuring wine from around the world, Victoria International Wine Festival will have masterclasses, seminars, and tastings with experts from the Pacific Northwest and California.

On Thursday, Sept. 28, Chris Tanghe, director of education with GuildSomm (an international network for wine education), will host a masterclass on BC wines at 1pm at Parkside Hotel.

Later that night, you can head to L’Apero at 7pm to indulge in wines from Cannon Estate Winery (from Abbotsford) and enjoy pairing it with eight unique Pacific Northwest cheeses.

On Friday, taste the grapes of California with wine expert DJ Kearney, before the first of three grand tastings at the Victoria Conference Centre. Here, you’ll explore over 350 wines from 16 countries.

It’s all about elevating your taste buds, and Saturday will accomplish that with a seminar dedicated to educating the audience on perfect wine and food pairings, and two grand tasting nights at 3pm and 7pm at the Victoria Conference Centre.

To close out the Victoria International Wine Festival, a wine dinner at Zambri’s with Masi wines—a perfect pairing with Zambri’s award-winning Italian dishes.

It’s bound to be an elevated weekend for every spectrum of wine drinker.
