YYJ’s First-Ever Gin Festival!

Ginuary Gin Festival brings together Vancouver and Vancouver Island distillers with other local vendors in Victoria’s first ever gin-focused food and beverage festival. This farmers’ market style event, to be held Sun., Mar. 6 from 1 to 5pm, is designed to offset Covid-fatigue in the safe, socially-distanced outdoor setting of the historical St. Ann’s Academy’s beautiful apple orchard.

Guests can explore all things gin and gin craft-cocktail related, meet the distillers and their reps, chat with other local vendors, shop local artisan barware, sample food and beverages (alcoholic and non), and even purchase more of what they love to take home!

With a focus on supporting local, craft, and small business, the organizers are not charging vendors’ fees or profit sharing with vendors. Ticket sales support the infrastructure and execution of the event with a donation to be made to the Bartender’s Benevolent Fund from remaining ticket profits.

Ginuary Gin Festival’s 2022 community focus is on mental, emotional, and physical health and well-being. Dress for west coast weather and practice some positivity and self-care outside come rain, snow, or shine!

Guests will have the chance to win some amazing prizes from local sponsors chosen specifically to bolster spirits and promote social reconnection.

Advanced entry for Industry Hour is designed to allow vendors a full 60 minutes to speak directly to hospitality and industry folk (chefs, distributors, purchasers) about their offerings. The 4-hour general admission window from 1 to 5pm will allow guests to trickle in, rather than rush through a more traditional 2-hour “tasting” time, to accommodate social distancing, Covid protocols, and allowing for longer conversations between guests and vendors. There are even vendors offering samples for leashed doggos!

WHEN: Sun., Mar. 6, 1pm to 5pm | Industry Hour advanced entry: noon -1pm
