Celebrate New Year’s Eve at these Victoria restaurants

The end of the year is fast approaching and it is almost time to clink our glasses together and welcome in the new year. 2023 has been a year of great food, and what better way to celebrate than by enjoying even more delicious eats and beverages!

From late night snacks to champagne galore, we have compiled a list of restaurants hosting New Year’s Eve dinners and evening festivities.

Small Gods Brewing

Small Gods Brewing is hosting an evening of beer, food, and live music in Sidney. Peter McMaster will play tunes and late-night happy hour pricing will be in effect all night featuring $6 beers as well as $10 cocktails, wine, and ciders. Tickets include a welcome beverage, snacks, and bubbles from Unsworth Vineyards at midnight.

Wind Cries Mary 

Wind Cries Mary has a special set New Year’s Eve menu to ring the new year in with. The menu includes beets with chickpeas and kale, bison tartare with French bread and arugula, and king salmon with squash as well as duck breast and Hokkaido scallops. The menu also features an optional wine pairing that includes champagne, pinot gris, and liqueur muscat.

The Palms Restaurant & Lounge

The Palms Restaurant & Lounge is hosting a New Year’s Eve dinner and party. The restaurant’s three-course dinner menu features options of raclette, avocado chorizo scotch egg, or poached pear waldorf salad for starters as well as main course options including chateaubriand, sablefish, or a grilled cauliflower trio. For dessert, choose between eggnog brûlée, vegan berry cheesecake, or white chocolate and raspberry panna cotta.

Little Jumbo

Little Jumbo is serving a special New Year’s Eve menu alongside its normal menu. The sharing menu is designed for two people and features burrata, a seafood tower with butter poached prawns and oysters, and surf and turf with beef tenderloin and scallops. Champagne crème brûlée will be served for dessert. Walk-ins available after 9:30pm.

Virtuous Pie 

Virtuous Pie is hosting a New Year’s Eve drag night complete with drinks and food. Happy hour pricing will be in effect all night and feature cocktails, mocktails, and highballs will be available. Peaches N Screams and Olive Thistea will host the drag night which will have performances from Boy Gorgeous, The Mexicatessen, and Papa Pilled. Tickets include table seating and a glass of bubbly served before midnight.

Stage Wine Bar

Stage Wine Bar is serving a special New Year’s Eve dinner in Fernwood followed by an after party. The menu features oysters with champagne jelly, curry crab gougère, tartare de boeuf, and duck crown. For dessert is shio koji ice cream with champagne blancmange and almond pouring cream.

Friends of Dorothy

Celebrate New Year’s Eve at Friends of Dorothy with food, drinks, live music, and drag performances. The event includes a four-course dinner, late night snacks, bubbles, and party favours. An optional wine pairing is also available. Kady Savard and Dani Jackson will perform live music, followed by a drag show featuring Mina Mercury, Jolene Sloan, Ra, and Chaz Avery.

Nautical Nellies

Nautical Nellies is serving a New Year’s Eve dinner with a curated menu. The special menu features beef wellington, braised beef with roasted bone marrow, king salmon, and truffle pasta with steak and lobster. A mixed grill is also available featuring striploin, lobster mac, crab cakes, and jumbo prawns.

Craft Beer Market

Craft Beer Market is hosting a four-course New Year’s Eve dinner followed by a countdown party. The restaurant’s holiday dinner includes a complimentary cocktail and features arancini for starters and a wedge salad for the second course. For the main course choose from salmon filet, steak, brown sugar brined chicken, or truffle parmesan cream gnocchi. Spiced caramel cake will be served for dessert. Tickets for the countdown party include a glass of bubbles at midnight, party favours, and music.
