Are you passionate about food, creative menus, and entertainment? Each year, chef Castro from House of Boateng and special guests offer this culinary experience like no other. Each Long Table Dinner event is a collaboration with a local industry leader and each event is based on a theme.
The dinners kick off on Sep. 27 and 28 with a five-course dinner with Sheringham Distillery, followed by an exclusive five-course pairing event with Sea Cider on Oct. 5. Other collaboration dinners include Blue Grouse Estate Winery in November and Small Gods Brewery in January.
HOB Fine Foods also hosts ‘Mentor Dinners’ with chef Castro, a seven-course dinner experience where the chef shares his most memorable dishes from his experiences in the culinary journey. Each dish has a story. Chef explains and shares how the chef that mentored him impacted his career and why he chose that dish. First, he takes you to where he fell in love with cooking, travelling around the world, and ending the tour in Victoria, where the chef will prepare two dishes inspired by his experiences with mentors here.
Getting to taste chef Castro’s delicious food, learning the stories behind each dish, and connecting with other food lovers is an incredible experience that local food lovers will not want to miss this year.
Other events offered at Hob Fine Foods are cooking classes, where the setting is casual and interactive; guests enjoy food prepared by the chef throughout the event and can sit back with a glass of wine or help prepare the meal. Canapes and snacks are served during the class. During the cooking class, you will learn to cook a delicious appetizer and a main course (unless the class is based on a different theme), and it ends on a sweet note with dessert.
Prices vary depending on the class. Buy your tickets here and find information about the cooking classes here.
