Good morning foodies,
This is summer! Rejoice! For me, itās that point in summer where I canāt even believe my head is screwed on correctly, and Iām in a fugue of ice cream cones, bike rides, beaches, and craft beers. I donāt know about you, but so far itās been pretty sweet.

Just when you thought Victoriaās brunch options had topped out, a Canadian brunch chain is getting closer to opening up shop on Yates Street.
OEB Breakfast Co., the Calgary-based breakfast chain, will open a spot in Victoria at 856 Yates St.
Thereās no clue as to when OEB on Yates will openāthough, its website says soon and the windows at 856 Yates St. now bolster OEB graphics and photos, giving people a taste for whatās on the horizon.
OEB is known for its unique spin on brunch foodālike breakfast poutines and lobster crĆŖpesāand its foundation as a company was built by sourcing locally, farm to table.

ā¢ Saveur announces closure. One of the most popular fine dining restaurants in Victoria has, some believe, suddenly closed up shop. Just recently, head chef Robert Cassels was nominated to be inducted into the BC Restaurant Hall of Fame. Now, the French restaurant on Herald Street has officially closed.
ā¢ Sooke residents save local cafĆ© after recent closure. Around 400 locals rallied to buy the beloved Stick in the Mud Coffee House and reopen it under the name Cafe Vosino, after Sookeās former postal code and name of the Americano drink the cafĆ© served. The co-op coffee shop intends to open in fall.
ā¢ Five places to stop and pick up a cold treat in the Westshore. The Westshore has been facing a formidable heat wave, leaving locals sweaty, tired, and needing a refreshment. So, hereās a few cold treat options.
