😋 What is happening in Victoria's food scene this week?

Victoria eats under $10, local competes in the Great Canadian Baking Show, food events, and more!

Good morning foodies,

Last week, we asked readers what Victoria restaurants deserve to be a part of the Michelin Guide, and here is a list of restaurants we’ve gathered from the results.

Marilena topped the list by far, being mentioned several times. Other restaurants mentioned in the comments were Café Brio, Deep Cove Chalet, Ugly Duckling, Ebizo Japanese Restaurant, The Courtney Room, Stage, Wind Cries Mary, Emmaline’s, and others.

Today we are bringing you a list of places where you can grab a good lunch or happy hour meal (some for late night eats) for under $10. We also chatted with Jennifer Childs, a contestant on The Great Canadian Baking Show’s new season, who lives in Esquimalt and is proudly representing Vancouver Island in the show. We hope you enjoy it!

The popular cooking competition series—The Great Canadian Baking Show—is back for its eighth season and one of the bakers, Jennifer Childs, is from Esquimalt. Childs auditioned for the show every year since its first season. Over the past eight years, auditioning became a cherished tradition for her, her husband, and their three kids. Her persistence paid off this year, earning her a spot in the competition. We chatted with her about her baking background, her experience on the show, and what’s next.
